Friedman’s is a family owned cluster of restaurants located across NYC. The restaurants were first established in 2009 as one of their pioneers had been diagnosed with coeliac disease and wanted a space which could be her ‘gluten-free safe haven’. The restaurants offer all gluten free choices of the meals presented on the menu. There’s a range of coeliac friendly meals which are hard to find normally in you’re ordinary chain restaurants. They offer waffles, pancakes, burgers, fried chicken and sandwiches all made gluten free. Friedmans also offers the chance to order online which is super handy if you're working long shifts and need to grab something to go. If you visit you definitely need to try the blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. The staff are super friendly and keen to help out in any way possible.

The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park is the fine dining must see in Central Park. The Boathouse is very well known for featuring in 27 Dresses, When Harry met Sally and many other well known productions. The restaurant overlooks the water and has beautiful scenery surrounding making it the ideal venue for a romantic dinner out or a fancy lunch with the parents. The food is all prepared freshly on the day and is exquisite. The bold contrast of the pomegranate seeds with the sharp pepper corns delicately marinated the crispy salmon. The roasted spaghetti squash tied all the ingredients together nicely with a gluten free alternative to the usual, wheat filled, spaghetti. The staff were more than happy to help find gluten free dishes or alternatives to the usual dishes on offer which can be hard to find in such a busy restaurant. Since the Boathouse is such an attraction in Central Park it is wise to book a table prior top your visit otherwise you can expect a 30 minute wait… but believe me the wait is completely worth it. Overall, the Loeb Boathouse is a must see, even if only for a relaxing drink by the edge of the water as the sun goes down.
